Reflecting on Ceremony

Reflecting on Ceremony

As you well know, ceremony is a key tool that I return to again and again for transformation in my life. I wanted to share a few thoughts that came to me after my last ceremony. "When I’m confused. When I’m fearful. When I’m lost. When I’m sad… When I want to celebrate. When goodness has come… When I’m looking to create or awaken something new… I turn to ceremony. I make heartfelt offerings of beauty to all of spirit & pachamama. I bring my questions. I bring my prayers. I ask for clarity. I ask for openings. I...

Daily Visioning Practice

Daily Visioning Practice

For the shaman, visioning the path ahead is a daily practice of prayer, offerings, and meditation. I'll be honest and share that sticking to a daily ritual has always been a challenge for me. I'm not sure if it's my rebellious aquarian spirit, laziness, overwhelm, or otherwise.

Though I don't normally create a list of resolutions, I do love to set goals, and one of mine this year is to stick to a daily visioning practice. Why? Because it makes a HUGE difference for me to stay in the smooth flow of synchronicity. Destiny

Destiny. I believe. Do you? In my hand (pictured here) is a bone that I found in Peru while descending from an epic pilgrimage to Apu Asungate. Of course it felt special and I keep it in my mesa as a connection to that mountain. But it wasn't until my sweetheart pointed something out that its true meaning appeared. Just over a year later, the bone crescent moon...

Creating Sacred Space

Creating Sacred Space

I love reminding my community that sacred space does not need to be limited to the confines of certain places. No matter where we are in any moment, we can create a sacred setting to perform the work of the soul. It can be quite simple to create sacred space, but I don’t mistake simplicity for something to hold lightly. I have a few keys for my own practice as well as for teaching others to create their own method. Of course, there are many paths to reach this one destination. I’m sharing what sings in my heart, inspired by...

Birthday Ceremony

Birthday Ceremony

How else would I celebrate my birthday than with a bright & beautiful ceremony? This year, a blizzard arrived on my special day (oh my gosh, this winter!!!) so I focused on putting some snacks for the birds along with the flowers in my offering. Once complete, I sprinkled this over the freshly fallen snow.
