Grounding Meditation

I'd love to pass on a quick and easy meditation that I share with clients who experience anxiety and feeling ungrounded. This simple technique can be done almost anywhere, and with practice, you will find that you return to your calm center faster and faster.

  • Sit comfortably and close your eyes if possible. If not, just soften your gaze.
  • Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your low belly.
  • Breathe deeply and tune in to your heart beat.
  • Imagine yourself laying on the earth. Visualize your favorite spot in nature and feel yourself there.
  • Sink into the earth, feeling held and fully supported.
  • Begin to tune in to the heartbeat of the earth. If you can't sense it, just imagine its calm, steady pace.
  • Focus your intention on syncing your heart beat with the heart beat of the earth.
  • Feel your heart beat begin to calm and steady.
  • Once you have reached a calm, steady pace and a relaxed feel in your body, slowly count to 10 or 20 to lock that feeling in.
  • Gently open your eyes and intentionally return to your day!
